 Weems & Plath Nautilus High Sensitivity BarometerThe Nautilus Collection from Weems & Plath is our first truly waterproof series of instruments. The black case that encloses each precision instrument is solid aluminum construction that is glass bead blasted for a low-glare satin finish, then color anodized and sealed for unparalleled corrosion, chemical, and abrasion resistance. This attractively rugged finish will never peel, bubble, or tarnish in the marine environment. The glass lens sits in a double O-ring seal for vibration, impact, and thermal expansion protection. The anodized aluminum dial is laser engraved. There are durable moveable markers made of U.V. stabilized polycarbonate outside the lens for marking time or pressure. The fasteners are stainless steel. To calibrate the instruments, rotate the unit 1/8 of a turn, which releases the case and leaves the back plate on the bulkhead. This feature is also convenient to remove the instruments for storage or anti-theft reasons. These state of the art instruments also include a lifetime warranty.
This barometer has a unique hydrophobic filter that allows air to pass yet resists water. The filter will easily stop the entrance of water due to continuous spray, and because of its unique construction, it is waterproof to a depth of 3 feet. The movement in the barometer is an accurate "Hi-Sensitiv" all metal aneroid movement. It has an expanded scale so that the needle noticeably moves as weather conditions change. The scale ranges from 28.5 to 30.5 instead of the traditional 27.5 to 31.5 in Hg. It also can be read in millibars. The barometer can also be purchased with the optional incorporated inclinometer, which is fluid dampened, bright backed, and has a ball indicator.
